About True Grit Training

Hi, I’m Sean Clark. I’m the owner of True Grit Training, and I’ve been dedicated to personal training since 2016. With a B.S. in Kinesiology from Wayne State, I’ve spent the last decade helping people from all walks of life move better, feel stronger, and live healthier.

From Division I collegiate athletes to 75-year-old badasses determined to move pain-free, I’ve worked with a wide range of clients to meet their unique goals. No matter your starting point, True Grit Training is a place where you can feel supported, challenged, and ready to transform your life.

Meet Sean Clark

Hi, I’m Sean Clark, the founder and head trainer at True Grit Training. My passion for personal training started back in 2016, and it has shaped every aspect of my life and career. I hold a B.S. in Kinesiology from Wayne State University, and I’ve spent the last decade helping people from all walks of life feel and move better.

From working with Division I collegiate athletes to guiding 75-year-old badasses toward pain-free movement, I’ve seen the power of fitness to transform lives. My goal is to help you achieve the strength, confidence, and resilience you need to thrive—no matter where you’re starting from.

Our Philosophy

Detroit is a city built on grit, determination, and resilience, and we bring those same qualities to every training session. At True Grit Training, we don’t just focus on physical fitness—we aim to make you antifragile, both mentally and physically. This means helping you thrive under pressure and emerge stronger through every challenge.
